Text: John 16:24 Hitherto have you asked nothing in my name : ask, and ye shall receive ,that your joy may be full.
As Christians, Bible teaches us to ask whatever we need in prayer. Even if the answers to our prayers are not forthcoming, the word of God says we should continue to ask and we should not stop asking until our joy is full. This is the teaching of the Holy Bible.
We should be very careful of some teachings like fast-track miracles or instantaneous miracles (Lesekese). Of course at times we pray and God answers immediately and at times we pray and it takes long time before God answers. We pray and our father in heaven answers our prayer in line with His will for our lives.
REASONS WHY ANSWERS TO PRAYER ARE DELAYED
(1 ) When our attention is mis-directed : Our minds and prayer can be fixed upon a need that our gaze shift away from our relationship with God The answer may be delay until we refocus on Him( Mark 12:30).
(2) God waits at times because the timing is not right for granting our requests ( Eccl 3:1-2).
(3) There may be some seasons when God wants to stretch and grow our faith. The Holy Spirit will work in those times of waiting to nurture us and bring forth righteousness (Galatians 5:22-23).
(4) Wrong motives for our requests (John 4:3). When we persist in the lifestyle of disobedience and still want miracles from God, He may delay His answer until we repent.
